Walk With The Animals is celebrating its 22nd year! Due to the risks of COVID-19, we’ve decided not to do our usual in-person event this year. But the cats and dogs still need us so we’re asking for your support as Walk With The Animals goes VIRTUAL!
How can you and your pet(s) participate in Walk With The Animals Goes VIRTUAL? Just follow these steps:
Step 1 – Raise Funds* to support the cats and dogs at Northwoods Humane Society.
- Build your own online fundraising page and get tips to start raising money HERE
- Learn how to set up a Facebook fundraising page HERE Please Note: Facebook isn’t always letting us know when someone sets up a fundraiser for us. If you’ve set up a Facebook fundraiser, please send an email to info@northwoodshs.org and let us know.
- To collect pledges off-line, click HERE for a printable pledge form/flyer or call us at 651-982-0240 and we’ll mail one out to you
- To make a single donation toward the Walk, click HERE
- Collect Rewards For Fundraising! (*Fundraisers who’ve reached the $25 mark by 31 will be able to collect their t-shirt in time to wear it on Virtual Walk Day!)
*Fundraisers who raise their first $25 by August 30, 2020, will be eligible to pick-up (or have mailed) their Walk T-Shirt so that they can wear it in their social media photos on Saturday, September 12
Step 2 – Do Something Fun With Your Pet – on September 12 between 10 am and 2 pm
- Take a walk with your dog
- Read your cat a story
- Build an agility course for your rabbit, ferret, guinea pig or other small pets
- Go to the lake for a swim with your dog
- Take your pet for a car ride (don’t forget a visit to the drive-thru)
Step 3 – Saturday, September 12
- Share Your Adventure – post pictures of your activities using the hashtag #nhsWalk2020 and keep and eye on our social media to see what other pet owners are doing with their animal pals.

- our usual Silent Auction is going Online starting at 12:01 am Friday, September 11 and ending at 11:59 pm Sunday, September 13

- we’ll be doing Live Feeds from Facebook from 10 am to 2 pm on Walk Day – including a Big Announcement about an exciting change coming to Northwoods

- Drive-By Activities – we’ll be offering a couple of drive-by activities at Northwoods from 10 am to 2 pm – so plan a car ride with your pets and stop by to say, “Hi!”
- Frosty Paws for dogs (when making a donation)
- human road snacks for purchase
- a pre-Walk activity for young kids (7 and under) – redeem at Northwoods for a prize
- Drive-Up Chip N’ Nails clinic (appointment required) – Chip Clinic Appointments Are Full; We Apologize For The Inconvenience
