Adoption Fees

All of our animals have a set adoption fee. This fee helps defray the cost of the medical care, labor and other occupancy costs associated with the shelter. Adoption fees vary by animal, and are noted on every animal’s paperwork. Accepted methods of payment are credit/debit or cash. Checks are not accepted for adoptions or retail purchases.

Cats are Feline Leukemia tested (if applicable); if there is a litter, one kitten in the litter is tested or the queen is tested.  If deemed appropriate by the veterinarian technician performing the cat’s exam, a combination test (Feline Leukemia/FIV) will be performed. Cats are placed for adoption if this test is negative.  Cats have had at least their first distemper combination vaccination (the booster vaccination is given if they are in our care for the appropriate time) All cats are also given a general dewormer, treated with a flea and tick product (if applicable), have a microchip implanted, and are spayed or neutered before they leave for their forever homes.  Cat adoption fees range from $50 to $150 + tax. Kitten adoption fees range from $120 to $200 + tax.

Dogs are Heartworm tested (if over 6 months of age), had at least their first distemper combination vaccination (the booster vaccination is given if they are in our care for the appropriate time). All dogs are also bordetella vaccinated, given a general dewormer, treated with a flea and tick product (if applicable), have a microchip implanted, and are spayed or neutered before they leave for their forever homes. Dog adoption fees range from $150 to $600 + tax. Puppy adoption fees range from $250 to $600 + tax.
